I integrate AI into real systems
already in production.

Software Architect & AWS Cloud Professional. I lead engineering teams and run large accounts end-to-end — requirements, build, ops — bringing LLMs and agents into systems that already have paying customers.

What I do

Four ways I help companies build, fix and scale software — with a strong focus on bringing AI into systems that already run in production.

Architecture & Legacy Rescue

Audits, refactors, cloud migrations. I make the system that crashed yesterday hold tomorrow's growth.

End-to-end engineering lead

I run large accounts on my own: requirements, design, build, ops. I've led teams of 8–12 and I can either plug into yours or carry the whole project myself.

Problem-finder & problem-solver

My strongest skill: understanding what's actually broken (even when nobody can name it yet), proposing the fix, designing it and shipping it. I adapt to your stack — what I don't know, I learn.

About me

Ivan Mir Arroyo

I'm a Software Architect, AI Engineer and AWS Cloud professional based in Barcelona. I've led complete development teams and currently run large accounts end-to-end on my own: requirements, application, operations and ongoing maintenance — all of it.

My strongest skill is understanding problems — and very often spotting them before anyone else does. I propose the improvement, design it and ship it. I adapt to whatever each project needs; what I don't know, I learn. My goal is to bring business value, not problems.

I work daily with AI: agents, RAG pipelines and LLMs integrated into existing products — the messy ones, the legacy ones, the ones with real users that can't afford to break. I started in IT systems, moved into web programming, spent four years rescuing e-commerce platforms (Magento, Laravel, Symfony) and then went deep into backend, scalability and architecture. On the side I run Survivia, a Minecraft community of 200+ players — because someone has to do the ops.

const value = (knowledge + skills) * attitude
The formula I apply to every hire and every project.

How I think

  • 01Understand the problem first. Half the bugs in production are misunderstood requirements.
  • 02Detect, propose, design, ship. End-to-end ownership, not handoffs.
  • 03Adapt to the stack, not the other way around. What I don't know yet, I learn.
  • 04Bring business value, not problems. If I can't, I say so.

> ./how-we-work.sh

How we work together

No mystery, no 80-page proposals. Four steps from first call to handover.

Discovery

You write me an email with context, goals and constraints. I reply within one working day; if it makes sense, we jump on a call. If we're not a fit, I'll say so.

Proposal & scope

Short doc: what I do, what I don't, deliverables and timeline. Fixed-scope or ongoing.

Iterative execution

Weekly demos. Code access from day one. No surprises at the end.

Handover & support

Docs, knowledge transfer to your team, optional ongoing support.

Got a project in mind?

Tell me what you're building, what hurts, or what you'd like to add AI to. I'll tell you honestly if I can help — and how.

Frequently asked

Remote or on-site?
Remote by default; on-site possible in Barcelona for kickoffs or critical workshops.
What size of company do you typically work with?
From early-stage startups to scale-ups with established product. Sweet spot: 5–50 engineers, product in production with real users.
Can I hire you for a one-off audit?
Yes. Architecture reviews, AWS cost audits and "should we add AI to this?" workshops are common starting points.
Do you sign NDAs?
Always, when the client requires one. Several of my projects (including Fudix) are under NDA.
Response time?
Email: within 24 working hours. Calls: usually within the same week.
Working languages?
Spanish, English and Catalan. Code, docs and meetings in any of the three.
How does this fit with your full-time role?
I'm currently full-time Tech Lead at Classlife Education. External engagements are scheduled evenings/weekends or via formal agreement when scope allows. I'm strict about conflicts of interest.
Stack you don't touch?
Anything I can't be honest about. If your stack is .NET, Ruby on Rails or Java enterprise, I'll point you to someone better suited.
